Pari Livermore founded The Mentors Lunch for women to honor inspirational women.

The Mentor’s Lunch provided support for the Vallejo Stairway Garden.

Beginning in 1990 Gail Glasser, Carol Anne Rogers and Pari Livermore began to raise funds for beautification of the Vallejo Stairway at the top of Russian Hill. The stairway was barren filled with litter and in great disrepair

The trio banded together to encourage their neighbors to cleanup, plant and maintain the area in which they lived.

Together they developed Pari Livermore’s idea for a Mentor’s Lunch to help women honor their mentors as a fundraising tool. The nonprofit umbrella organization for the Mentor’s Lunch was the Russian Hill neighbors.

The luncheon was a resounding success and 5 our of the 7 years it was given, the lunch was given at the Mandarin Restaurant in San Francisco on Ghirardelli Square.

The women who attended Mentor’s Lunch were asked to write one sentence about their mentor to be printed in the program for all to read.

The women enjoyed spending time at the party introducing their mentors to other participants and extolling their virtues. It was an atmosphere of gratitude and a joyful experience for everyone in attendance. The mentors received a small bag of gifts a the party’s end.

The funds raised for the Mentor’s Luncheon were used for the Vallejo Stairway Garden. Improvements including such expenses as clean-up, hardscape repair, planting and watering systems.

Today if you stroll down the steps at the summit of Russian Hill, many of the efforts to improve the Vallejo Stairway Garden still remain and Gail Glasser and Carol Ann Rogers still continue to raise funds for he garden steps for everyone to enjoy.

Pari received the 2003 Love and Appreciation Plaque for the Vallejo Stairway Garden Crest from the Russian Hill Neighbors.

Pari Livermore Founded The Mentor’s Lunch to Honor Inspirational Women

Enriching the lives of others and the environment have always been key motivators behind Pari Livermore’s acts of compassion and generosity. One of these notable acts of kindness was the creation of The Mentor’s Lunch. Created in partnership with Gail Glasser and Carol Anne Rogers, Pari Livermore’s Mentor’s Luncheon honored women of great achievement and the wonderful mentors that fueled their passion for excellence.

Pari Livermore’s Mentors Luncheon was a resounding success. At each of The Mentor’s Luncheons, the honorary women were asked to write a sentence about their influential mentors to include with the event handout. Along with these praises, The Mentor’s Lunch encouraged attendees to share their gratitude for their mentors, and openly share the inspirations that influenced their achievements and successes.

The event’s atmosphere was filled with kindness, empowering motivation, and a lifetime of gratitude as warm introductions, generous fundraising, and new friendships blossomed. Thanks to the charitable contributions of the women and mentors in attendance, every dollar earned over 7 years of fundraising was used to beautify the Vallejo Stairway Garden at the top of Russian Hill in San Francisco.

For many years, Pari, her husband Putnam, and neighbors from the surrounding area worked to plant, nurture, and maintain this beautiful community area. What was once a desolate and litter-filled stairway is now a magnificent spectacle of how hard work, generosity, and kindness can transform an area into a beautiful and timeless landscape. To this day, Gail Glasser and Carol Anne Rogers continue to raise funds to maintain and support the Vallejo Stairway Garden.

The Mentor’s Lunch is Only One of Pari’s Dedicated Acts of Kindness

Just like the stairway garden at Russian Hill that still blossoms, Pari Livermore’s legacy of empathy and kindness continues to enrich the lives of the communities and organizations she serves. Along with The Mentor’s Lunch’s contributions at Russian Hill, Pari continues to support community gardens in Middletown, California with the Daffodil Day Program and provides funding to the Marin Art and Garden Center in an ongoing effort to preserve our beautiful earth and support those in need.
Through her ongoing matchmaking efforts, exciting fundraisers and events, and genuine compassion for serving others, she continues to provide hope and inspiration to the communities, students, and organizations that she supports.
